Bill Handson was the only person in the entire camp who was not afraid of Wallkery. Sara had woken up and wanted to talk to her sister, Maradith was trying to keep her from running out to find her, and Wallkery stood oblivious with every man in a ten-mile radius scared to their core. though not for no reason. half the men watch her decapitate a man without blinking or flinching, and the other half heard about it and saw the remains.

there was a very good reason that bill was hunted down. Wallkery was needed and she would most likely kill anyone with bad news, and there was doubt whether she would listen to the news at all.

after the news reached him that Wallkery was needed he had an idea of what would happen if she was disturbed by anyone who could not stop her from killing them, it was not a pleasant idea.

he had worked his way back to the fort and gone looking for Wallkery. he both was and was not surprised to find her up on the wall, where he had confined her. after he reached the top of the stairwell he just stood there contemplating his next move.

in many ways Wallkery was like her dire wolf prone to attacking when startled but fiercely loyal. unfortunately, the wolf was also recovering from wounds and could not join her to keep her company. so now it was just him standing and wondering how to avoid getting sent to maradith. had he thought of it he could have sent Maradith and stayed with the patients, she had once remarked that he was competent with wounds. unfortunately, that thought did not occur to him till long after he had completed his task.

slowly bill Handson moved forward. two steps in he stopped, as he was walking forward Wallkery had drawn her blade and pointed it at his heart. suddenly Bill realized what the best course of action was.
